Paul Dumas gave us this recipe. We suspect that he likes to make it because he is French. Since he never makes French toast, we feel confident in our analysis (see French toast recipe).
olive oil
1/2 lb wheel of camembert
1 package crescent roll dough
The wheel of camembert that you should use is approximately 4" in diameter and is usually sold in a little wooden container. You can also use a wheel of brie, or if you can find neither, a 1/2 lb wedge of either will do nicely.

Preheat oven to 350. Oil an oven-safe bowl or casserole dish. In this recipe, you want the cheese completely wrapped in dough. Unwrap the dough and lay half down in the bowl. Take the cheese out of the packaging (leave the skin) and place on top of the dough. Place the other half of the dough on top and seal the dough all around the edges so that no cheese is exposed. (You can make creative designs with the dough if you want.) Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let sit at least 15 minutes after taking it out of the oven, or the cheese will goop out all over the place. Slice like a pie and serve with crackers.

Ah, to have worked in the day when the wheel had not yet been thought of!"
