| Step 13: Place a small piece of a firebrick on top of both pieces and add enough flux to ensure uniform coverage. Step 14: Using a size 0 tip, apply heat evenly to parts to be brazed. Continue until silver runs easily. Do not continue to heat parts where the silver does not run easily -- this will result in the brass warping and/or burning. Step 15: Put piece in pickle to remove remaining flux. Step 16: If there are unbrazed parts, hammer more silver thin enough to fit in the gaps (if possible). Place more flux between these unbrazed parts, and repeat steps 14 - 16 until piece is fully brazed. |
